Remembering Valorie Hartridge

A great servant leader, a true general in the fight against hunger and poverty, has departed this earth, but she has not departed from our hearts. We thank God for Valorie Hartridge, a Board Member and devoted volunteer since the start of Rainbow Community Development Center. Val's lasting desire is that we continue the fight against hunger and poverty. Thank you for your generous support to continue the work that Valorie was always so passionate about.

Building Better Lives for those in need.

What motivates human behavior? Maslow's hierarchy of needs is one of the best-known theories of motivation. Rainbow Community Development Center seeks to help our neighbors meet some of these basic needs: Food (Physiological), Shelter (Security) and Community (Social). Through our programs and our faith, we seek to help those who need a helping hand.

Join Rainbow Community Development Center as we fill our clients carts with food and their hearts with hope.

Supporting our community in faith and love

Food Insecurity in Montgomery County

Lack of access to healthy, nourishing food undermines the health and well-being of children and families. In Montgomery County, 7% of the County’s population is estimated to be food insecure (77,780). Children are especially vulnerable to families’ economic status. Nearly 13.9% of the County’s children are estimated to be food insecure, representing 33,000 children. This number of food insecure children is higher than any other County in the state. This has only worsened with the recent pandemic.

“No family should be without healthy, nutritious food…..”
