“The Rainbow Food Pantry has been such a BIG HELP…..”

Just want to let you know how the Rainbow (free) Food Pantry has been such a BIG HELP for a dear, widowed friend of mine! This wonderful person is 86 yrs. old and she lost her husband about 4 years ago. I was familiar with Rainbow b/c it was such a HUGE help to another young mother with 3 young sons who was ill and unable to work who was also a good friend of mine.

When I often spoke w/ this sweet elderly widow, I could sense that there were some troubling issues in her life since her husband's passing. I asked her a little about her financial situation and she told me that she had hospital bills to pay, rent, and a whole host of other bills. She mentioned that her rent had gone up and that it now equaled the ENTIRE amount of her late spouse's Social Security check!!! He had been employed as a contractor with a company which left him with only a very small amount as a "pension". It became clear that she did not have enough money remaining (after paying her bills) to buy sufficient food for herself. I immediately recalled that Rainbow gave out wonderful food items (fresh produce, and protein items), and non-perishable goods, as well! I made a call to Rainbow and they checked out the necessary info. to be sure she qualified.

And now this kind lady feels SO BLESSED and THANKFUL to receive the amazing and nutritious varieties of foods from Rainbow every 3 weeks (used to be 4 weeks--prior to the pandemic)! I am also grateful! It makes me GLAD to have found this marvelous place that truly HAS been a LIFESAVER for my dear friend. Thanks a MILLION, Rainbow Food Pantry!!!

With Warmest Regards,

Joanna K.
